Welcome from SC

#1

Post by Ragilmer »

Hey everyone,
I'm Rob and live in Columbia, South Carolina. I got into astronomy about 10 years ago and picked up an XT6. I was pretty active on the old Astronomy Forum.net for a couple of years and am happy to see some of the same folks reconvened over here :). My son's gotten old enough to be interested in astronomy more now, which has helped get me back into it over the past few (mostly cloudy) months.I've still got my XT6, but I also have an AD10 arriving in a couple of days that I'm dying to try out! I am missing my old M110 badge, but I bet earning a another one will be fun with the new scope. Thanks for the add!

Hello Rob from one South Carolinian to the other!
I Bought an aperture AD 10 back in February and absolutely love it.
Here are some images of some free apps that I use.
I see you said you’re getting back into the hobby, I’m a newbie but I find these apps very useful and all three of them are free!

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the great welcome! I apparently don't have my log anymore (at least on this laptop, I bet I can still get it off an old hard drive though), but I do have my certificates from Derek in my email account though, so that should work (attempting to attach it below). I'll see if I can recover the logs though, because I bet it'll be fun to see the difference in descriptions between the scopes. @Ylem I'd actually been looking at finding a darker sky spot somewhere between me and Charlotte. I'm on the NE end of town near 77, so really not that far at all. @Frankskywatcher thanks for the tips, I'll have to check those out. I actually lived in Conway for a year when I was a kid.
I think it must be some sort of miracle, but we're actually supposed to have clear skies for the next five nights!
