Who Says There Are No Auroras During Summertime?

My Aurora app said, "Hey you've got Aurora outside." I ran outside and said, "Hey I've got Aurora outside." So I took some pictures on this fine July summer night. This is looking North from my front yard. This is the best Aurora I've witnessed since moving here.

That is phenomenal JT!

To me, someone who has never seen an aurora, the photos look so surreal and just hard to imagine seeing live.
I have seen many photos of auroras and they are all really mind blowing. Wow, what a sight!

It was not bright. Your eyes needed to be dark adapted to see the pillars, but even then they were only lighter sections of the sky. The bottom green glow was perceived as just a brighter than normal patch of sky at the horizon. No color was seen for either part of the aurora.

Well the best auroral display I've seen was in late spring early summer. So I wouldn't say that! ;) Nice catch.

Yeah, the best display I've seen was in early summer on Isle Royale National Park. Crazy thing covered the sky from horizon to horizon and lasted at least 2-3 hours.
