It was not bright. Your eyes needed to be dark adapted to see the pillars, but even then they were only lighter sections of the sky. The bottom green glow was perceived as just a brighter than normal patch of sky at the horizon. No color was seen for either part of the aurora.
That´s beautiful and really impressive for being with that phone (I have one myself)!
