I would recommend the AstroTech over the SVBony.
Astronomics is very upfront with how the refractor is made and they offer good customer service if needed as well.

They'll also give you up-to-date info on arrival dates and all that, although the logistics companies and customs sometimes throw them a curveball.

My AT102ED is a good scope although maybe a bit heavy / bulky for my tastes (probably should have bought the 80ED). I'd think the 80ED would be very good quality as well. (PM me if you think you might want to buy a slightly-used 102.)

I went ahead and got an 80ED (Orion) but it's done nothing for me except bring me clouds 😆

I did get a little solar in last week though ;)

It's a sweet scope :)

You've made a good choice with the Orion 80ED - I believe it's all from the same (Synta) manufacturer as Skywatcher certainly for the glass with the difference only in the focuser being single speed(?) instead of the dual speed that the SW model has. You can tell all of the money has gone into the business end of the doublet though as I've never seen any CA in mine and easily take it to 60x per inch power for planetary and lunar observation.

Congrats on the new glass, clouds are temporary, a good scope is for life.
Cheers,

Tony.
