According to the numbers the mass of the gas/dust is fairly low, in comparison to what might have been witnessed in the sun's solar nebula.

I think I was considering the numbers as a protosolar nebula of 30 earth masses, whereas it is a protoplanetary disk (assuming just one planet would be formed from the disk) thus the numbers probably are not far off.

Fair enough. It is a protoplanetary disk not protosolar. It is also rather point like in comparison with the image of the full disk of which it is a part. I think the illustrations could have been done in a clearer way. I find them confused.
Figures 4 and 5 in the article provide better context, though.
