Lonely Ewok and Slimer

#1

Post by Benjamin »

An often ignored region just above the far more distracting M16. NGC 6604 is the open star cluster on the left and SH2-54 is the bright ‘Ewok’ on the right. Slimer looks on from bottom left. All very 1983/84!

Skywatcher f4 ‘Quattro’ CF 8” Newtonian

Skywatcher EQ6-R
Astrodon Ha 5nm, OIII 3nm, SII 3nm and RGB (6 hours all up)

I was pretty sure the StarWars/Ghostbusters references wouldn’t connect with everyone BUT I do like the idea that this region is where defunct movie characters might now reside!

Beautiful image! I was wondering about the reference too and can't say I'm sorry that I missed out on Star Wars and Ghost Busters, was a bit too busy in those days.

Great image! Both movies were favorites of mine. Matter of fact I saw the original Star Wars movie at a movie theater in Adelaide, SA!
