DIY Repair Question

#1

Post by JayTee »

I have a SLIK U-212 tripod and the top part of the head has become unglued and then lost. What would be a good replacement material for the mounting surface of this head. See images.

So this "rubberized" looking mat is what needs replacing

This image shows that coming unlaminated is common to this tripod.

Suggestions?

Why not find some appropriate superglue and clamp it?

I'd try rubber craft foam - about a dollar for an 10x12 (?) sheet.

Actually, I went a little bit crazy and got this instead. Same thought process but this material is just a bit thicker.

Plus, there's a lot more of it for nearly the same price.
