Its been 50 years since I received a 4 inch refractor for Christmas and I now have a 14 inch C-14 mounted on a CGX-L mount where I use V-4 Hyperstar, night vision, stabilizer binocs, and a CMOS Mallincam 26ctec camera. Most of my astrophotography is captured from central and south Louisiana where the skies are most dark and unfortunately, damp. I do go to OK, NM, CO, and south Texas once or twice a year. I decided to join this forum as a way to gain more knowledge and ideas to enhance my already enjoyable consuming hobby. Does anyone have a set up similar to mine and have enjoyed the benefits of Hyperstar, as I have?
Before Hyperstar, my images were poor to average but now I see where my images have a professional look. Thanks for allowing me to join and look forward to sharing this hobby with you all.

Hi Dampsky. It's always great to have a new member on board here at TSS. And it looks like you have come a long way from the 4" refractor to the 14" Schmidt-Cassegrain. And living here in Florida we have a lot of humidity too, just like Louisiana. Welcome to the forum Dampsky and the best of wishes on your astrophotography endeavors.

:text-welcomeconfetti: Welcome to TSS Dampsky!

I started with a 3" reflector just over 50 years ago also.
Mine had a cardboard tube and a plastic focuser and EPs.

Fun times, I remember at that age hoping to see the astronauts on the Moon 🌝

Thanks for joining us 🙂
