4th of July Comet Photo

#1

Post by Jnicholes »

So, Despite the fireworks, I took my telescope out and once again located the C/2017 K2 PANSTARRS Comet. It was brighter tonight, but only slightly. Maybe all the light and smoke pollution from fireworks was affecting it, I don’t know.

Here is the picture.

Nice capture! I located the comet last evening also using RA and DEC from Skylive.

I have never tried catching a comet. But I suppose it's hard since it's a moving target.

Nice grab!

I used Stellariumweb to get the RA DEC. For some reason, I get conflicting coordinates from theskylive and Stellariumweb. I trust Stellariumweb.

No offense.

Did you get a photo?

No pics. I try to avoid AP! Have too many other rabbit holes!!

On 1 July several of us were observing and one member of our group, Donovan Brock, took this image with his 12 inch Meade LX200 on a Losmandy G11T mount.
