I once got a 24 mm eyepiece at the RTMC that looked like that, I think it was a Lumicon variable height eye cup. Something like https://www.bing.com/images/search?view ... ajaxserp=0. While the quality seemed good, my nose hit the rim every time. I had to tilt my head to keep it from happening. It got so annoying that eventually I took the entire outside enclosure off it. Now it looks like a normal eyepiece just with a sharp rim, but it works much better. I can't tell if these eyepieces would have similar problems, I hope they work for you.
I see what you mean. Both of them have long eye relief, so hopefully I will be able to hover above without ramming my nose into them.
Makes my largest, the 21mm Ethos, seem like a baby! It is a mere 2.25 lbs or 1.02 kg. That said, it is the largest I desire. I had to add a wee bit more counterweight for when I use it for observing lower in the south to keep the dob from taking a nose dive.

After testing a few 2" EP designs I have selected 27mm 68 deg Panoptic, 36mm 72 deg Baader Aspheric and Televue 55mm 50 deg Plossl for my main DSOEP set. Together with Pentax XWs they cover FL range from 3.5 to 55mm. They all weigh about one lb, no rebalancing required, and work nicely in all my scopes.
So, I am not throwing those glass grenades into my carefully selected EP lineup. Instead I will use them for outreaches and specialized observing. Hunting asteroids with SCTs/Maks and large faint nebulae with fast refractors come to mind.
Hi Bigz! Good luck with your eyepiece display! I have the Meade 30 and 24 UWA but unfortunately the 30 fogged up inside a few years ago and now makes a great paperweight in my office! Both eyepieces were great and I still use the 24 from time to time. When the 30 crashed my wife felt so sorry for me she let me buy a 35 Panoptic.

Bummer about fogging of 30mm UWA Ed, but getting 35 Panoptic is not a bad trade off and you can still use 30mm UWA as decoration.
