Hello All!

#1

Post by DGorion »

Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum, but I was a member of the old Astronomyforum.net from a few years back, but wasn't particularly active there. I recently rediscovered my interest in Astronomy and tried to log in to astronomyforum only to find out it isn't around anymore. I believe many from there have found a new home here.

Having been reinfected with the Astronomy bug, I recently pulled the trigger and purchased an SCT - A Celestron Nexstar Evolution 8". Upgrading from a 102mm achromatic refractor to an 8" SCT has been an exciting step! I can't wait to get the scope out to a dark sky location. Currently, I've just been limited to backyard viewing under the light-polluted skies of the Los Angeles Basin. I can't wait until the Planets are visible at a more reasonable time. Haven't had an opportunity to take a look at them through the new scope yet –- It's very inconsiderate of them to show up in the sky WAY after my bedtime, in the wee hours of the morning. ;-)
