looking for a filter to enhance nebulas in bortle 7 visual observing

got to test the O-III filter. but the moon was out at a very bright 44% enough to read by and cast a bright shadow.. and the only thing it seemed to make a difference on was lagoon nebula (made stars very faint though.)
and orion nebula.
I couldn't find anything else to try to look at with it.
Lagoon nebula is invisible without the filter. and just barely detectable in averted vision with it as a vague featurless glow
orion nebula is almost the same as without the filter. just darker background sky. and fainter stars.

I live in a Bortle 7 setting, and use a narrowband filter for viewing planetary nebulas. I have an OIII filter, but seldom use it. Nebulas are just about impossible at Bortle 7 for me, with a few exceptions, such as M42 and M17 and a few others. The planetary nebulas are the only objects I view with a filter.
