Post by Ed217 »

Initial cut at an image of Eta Carina Nebula NGC 3372, a large, complex area of bright and dark nebulosity in the constellation Carina, located in the Carina–Sagittarius Arm. The nebula is approximately 8,500 light-years from Earth. Taken as 18 five minute exposures, six each for RGB for a total of 1.5 hours imaging over a few nights about 2/24/22 Captured by staff at the iTelescope observatory in Siding Spring Observatory in Coonabarabran, New South Wales, Australia using a Planewave 20" CDK 510 mm reflector telescope and a FLI PL09000 camera. Data downloaded from iTelescope and then processed with Pixinsight and Apple edit.
