There are a few places you can buy 76 cm reflctors but that seems like a lot of work to me. :)

A 30 inch scope, not bad. Here is a link to life with a 42 inch:

https://www.cruxis.com/scope/scope1070.htm

And here is Jimi Lowery's 48 inch. It requires a huge ladder and I hate using a step stool just to reach the eyepiece of my 17.5 inch when its near zenith! :)

Thanks for that link Gabrielle. I was looking for that scope as I'd read about it. Big scopes are indeed a lot of work, but apparently for some its worth the effort. At least with my 17.5 inch, I can leave it assembled in the garage at the other house and simply roll it out and back in! :)

That's sweet!!

We have a 24" f5 at our observatory that blows my mind, just have to be careful on the ladder in the dark. It is a good safety type warehouse version, but it's easy to get disoriented in the dark.

Thank you for sharing that I read the whole article really amazing!
I noticed that he never wants to tell anyone what he spent on the project so far not that I could blame him!
I had to do a double take and said his best friends name was Dodd and I did a double take and thought it said Dob as a Dobson,John RIP 🙏🏻

Refractors give a sharper image, but they get kinda long pass 6 inches. Thus a 10" Dob to go deeper. Dobs pass 10" require a ladder.

The Volvo mounted refractor is a 280mm (11") that was setup in the late 1970s and as far as I know it is still in use.

280mm is tiny, you need this one, 510mm (20") triplet.

At 331932.77 € + 20% DPH it is a steal
