p.s. If anyone (hey, I'm talking to you, Elon...) needs a 3D RF model of the wave attenuation and scattering from a small pile of cats sitting on a Starlink (or similar) antenna, just let me know! We can provide a technical and cost proposal. You'll get a report with nice multi-color plots, Powerpoint slides, etc. :)

Does anyone else think that if the US suddenly switched from imperial to metric there would be mass confusion plus a lot of people would find themselves in hot water.

Not sure where to post this, but it struck me as an example of what can only be the extreme opposite of "prepper" mentality:
From the article titled: "NYC could be hit with ‘significant’ snow storm this weekend" (at https://nypost.com/2022/01/12/nyc-could ... s-weekend/ ) we read: "New York City could be hit with a major bomb cyclone or nor’easter Sunday night, but forecasters say its far too early to make a run on bread and milk.". Uh, what???. Like, whatever you do, don't ever shop before the panic starts...?? I guess I just don't have a New York state of mind:

As Billy Joel noted, "It was so easy living day by day..." Yeah, I get it now. If a huge storm that will trap everyone at home is starting Sunday night, you'll still have plenty of time to shop on Sunday afternoon. It's all on the official schedule.

If that is considered a significant storm, they would think it was end times after the last two weeks here.

Yup. I think of significant snow starting at about a half meter. A few years ago in VA we had two occasions of 1 meter snowfall.

The last two weeks have been -20-25°C, 15-20 cm of snow daily with winds gusting between 75-130 km/h.
Winter in the High Tatras, delightful!

I watched a movie about Mr. Dobson,I was so impressed not only with his intellect but his sense of humor, this is one that he told and I thought it was pretty funny.

Adam was talking to God and Adam said “thank you for creating me but thank you even more for creating Eve,she is so beautiful”.
“In fact I can’t understand why you made her so beautiful but yet you made her incredibly stupid,I can’t understand why she’s beautiful but yet so dumb?
Then God said to Adam “well I made her that way so that she would like you”!🤣
