Guiding with the CEM70EC

#1

Post by AstroBee »

Hey guys/gals,
I recently acquired my new mount, the CEM70EC, and was curious about guiding with the RA encoder. Is there a place in the Mount Controller software or in PHD2 where you tell it to use the encoders and not correct for RA errors? I'm not in front of my rig at the moment but I seem to remember there being a tick-box in the iOptron mount software but the way it's worded, I wasn't sure whether or not to leave it ticked or not.
I'm interested in running some tests where I use the encoders (Might as well since I PAID for them.) and then let PHD2 correct both RA and Dec. and see which way works best.

Sorry, Greg, my CEM70 is the "G" model -- no encoders.
