Revolution Imager R2

#1

Post by gcisko »

Here the first image I took with my Revolution Imager last night. The Revolution Imager is a video camera, so this image is of the monitor.

I was able to clearly see the center star of M57 which is not normally possible with the 8SE. At least I have never seen it before in my 8SE.

Have you had cabling issues with the R2? I've considered getting one since I'm in so much LP soup, but I've read a number of comments that the cords are: too many, not long enough, get twisted up; screen's too small etc. I like the R2 b/c I really don't want to drag out a laptop with everything else when observing.

I drink tea, I read books, I look at stars when I'm not cursing clouds. It's what I do.

No I haven't had issues with cables. I put it all in a toolbox/case I got from Menards. It is just one cable going to the camera, everything is self contained.

I did buy many accessories though.

9" wide angle viewing monitor
25' extender video cable
2" adapter for 2" star diagonals
9800mah battery
Mini DVR
CCTV lens (for indoor testing)
Shorty barlow (for planets)
