Veil in HA

#1

Post by DMouse »

Hi all, decided to have a shot at a 2 panel mosaic. So targeted the veil nebula. Mosaics are a pain to process so I wanted a fairly short run so I can test my processing skills in combining the mosaic.
So here is 2 panels of HA, 10x 5min each. Flats, Darks, Bias all applied and processing and combining in PixInsight. First attempt at combining resulted in a large gradient between the 2 panels. After some reading and research on the PI forums I got an acceptable image. With that resolved I plan to add more HA and then the OIII.

Looks good Paul, I don't see any hint of the seam. Look forward to the finished project.

Good luck on capturing all the data.

By the way, where is Milton?

Great start on this one, Paul. As a "veteran" of Cygnus Loop mosaics, I love seeing everyone's efforts on it. Adding the Oiii will make for an exquisite image.
