Messier 35 plus second 35 still working on the final 40

#1

Post by Ben Cartwright SASS »

I have a first edition of "The Messier Album" by Mallas and Kreimer I bought new in 1987 and I have been recording my visual observations in it since that time. I finally got around to putting them in a spreadsheet and am submitting them for the first two tiers of the Messier Visual Award.

This single book covers my entire time in Astronomy! It is like a walk down memory lane. The oldest observation is from Sept 1987 2 months before my youngest son was born and covers camping trips, trips to my parents place in Maine and down the Cape and with the Boy Scouts.

the yellow highlighted are Tier 1
green highlighted are Tier 2
and blue are still be completed Tier 3
