Brett's Carbon Star Hunt - July 2021

#1

Post by KingNothing13 »

Hello and welcome to the July 2021 Edition of "Brett's Carbon Star Hunt". I hope everyone is having an enjoyable summer (or winter for
those in the southern hemisphere) thus far. I was hoping to get out to do some observing before travelling, but that does no look like
it is in the cards - clouds and rain for at least the next two weeks. Hopefully we get a magical clearing in there at some point.

For those interested in Carbon Stars, more info can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_star as well as here:
https://skyandtelescope.org/observing/o ... bon-stars/

I have been pulling my targets from the Astro Leagues 100 Carbon Star list for their Carbon Star Observing Badge, if anyone is curious.

On with the show for this month, as always I just provide the name of the star, the magnitude range, and some info on where to find
data for it, as well as observations. I have not observed these myself yet. Get out there and observe! :)

4 Targets this month, as promised.
