I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for an Achromatic Telescope for Solar Imaging, preferably 110mm-130mm range to use with my Daystar Quark Chromosphere and with an F# higer than F6.
I have an ST80 and also a SVX 80mm @ F6, so just looking for more aperture for those times I want to get closer. Also, My price range is about $350-$500 USD and it can be Used or New. I would like the weight to be about 15lbs or under as I would like to throw it on my Zeq25 at times.
Here are two so far that I am looking into and looking for other suggestions and thoughts.
ES AR 127 - F6.5
Celestron Omni 120 - F8.3
Thanks all

This is a nice achromat, you can look at the classifieds at CN or your local papers.
Someone may have one for less.
If you come across a TAL 100RS or a Vixen 105M I would recommend those highly as well. https://www.highpointscientific.com/cel ... -21090-ota

The Omni XLT 102mm and 120mm are the rough diamonds of the Celestron offerings.
I would suggest you take a look at the specs of the TAL, Vixen and 102mm Omni.
A 4" refractor at f/9-10 is a bit of a 'perfect' spot.

I will check them out. Now would F10 be too much for the Quark?

You would be at f/42 so not overly, many people use them with SCTs which are f/10 and have a smaller TFOV.

I ended up going with the Omni 120 XLT. I couldn't find anything and then called up HPS to see how many they had in stock and he said one, So I pondered a couple of minutes and just went for it. I was afraid that it would of been sold out. But now my luck is that one will show up on the classifieds tomorrow or maybe the Tal100 or ES lol
But the next thing that I want to do is to get a GSO focuser for it tomorrow, how would one go about that? I probably will buy from Agena.I don't want to get fancy with it so I figure GSO is good.

I think there is a chart on their website (and Scopestuff as well) but if you cannot find it, just call or send Mannish a email. I am sure he can get you set up in a couple of minutes.
You were asking about f/r earlier and I remembered afterward that John (Lowjiber) is having a folded solar telescope made with a 80 foot focal length!!
