CEM 70G Balance Issues

#1

Post by lostone »

Anyone out there with the CEM 70G? I'm playing hell trying to get either of my scopes balanced on it. I purchased this to use as a portable rig since my SW EQ8-Rh is a bit on the heavy side to use as a portable setup.

Anyway I get a scope to balance on one side of the RA Axis just fine, but when I move to the other side to verify the balance, It's all out of wack. I have done this with both of my scopes and get the same thing.

I think I have figured out what is causing the issue. Poor design. I have attached a photo showing how there is more weight on the left than on the right of the Mount Head.
