Well, since I have been smoked-in by the western wildfires, actually a re-work of three year old data. Can't see the sky anyway, probably not for a month, at least. Air so bad, the committee canceled golf, hazardous to be outside! Can't see a half a mile. So much for my problems. Back to M31. Shot September 17, 2017 with my, then new, ASI1600MC thru my AT80LE doublet
APO. Used my new IR cut filter too, before I determined that it was a cheap round piece of
DSLR cover glass and cut
Ha also. Well, not too much
Ha in most galaxies, unless you really chase it down with an
Ha filter exposure and blend it in. So more of a unmodified
DSLR look to this pic.
Actually the first time that I seriously processed this data, and it seems kind of nice. Total 33/2min exposures at gain 200, offset 50, -20C temp. Posted image a third full size but only edge cropped from full frame. Seeing was good at 65F and my notes had a Aurora in the north casting a bit of general glow to the sky.
Clear skies, I hope it clears enough to catch Mars sometime soon.
