Wow, what a thorough, well written review. Very informative, thank you. I'm left wanting to get a couple of BM's.

Two quick things, your comment about uncomfortable eye positioning with 82 degree eyepieces is spot on in my limited newby experience.

Also, for some reason, the column headers on the first table (Section 1) are not showing. One can infer what the columns are, but maybe you meant to show them?

A fine report here. 👍

I have just inherited a complete set of the 68° Baader Hyperion EP.

Not sure how to make the column and row borders visible. I dipped into the html code that was generated when I pasted the review into the system and put a border around the entire table, but not sure how to add the code so all the internal borders show.

They show ok for me?

An edit to an image of the table rather than an actual table might help if others have the same problem?

I traded all my newly purchased Hyperions (6) in for the Morpheus line save for the 36mm.

I was never a huge fan of the Hyperion and when the Morpheus line arrived I sent off the Hyperion with a smile.
A much better eyepiece in almost every way as far as I am concerned.

I'm with you Gabby,
I have not tried Morpheus but they sound very good. My eyepiece grid is full of Nagler 31,17,12, 7, Pentax XW 5,10, and Denkmeier D21, D14 eyepeices and I'm not in the market for any more eyepieces. Before buying the Pentax XW5, I had(have) a Baader Hyperion 5mm. It's not a great eyepiece. To be fair, I bought it for 1/3 of the price of the Pentax, both purchased 2nd hand. One of the selling points of the Hyperions is that you can unscrew the nose and in the case of the 5mm, it becomes a 22mm eyepiece.....a really terrible 22mm eyepiece.

I would say that the Hyperion were trying very hard to be a combination of things, unfortunately to me they missed on all aspects.
To 'fiddly', soft views at the edge, one had enough AMD (17 or 21mm?) that you had to use the trick of best focus for 50% off axis as you could not get edge/ center focused at the same time.
The 31 and 36 mm Aspherics are quite good though.
The Morpheus do make up for the failings of the Hyperion, excellent eyepieces.

I keep seeing nothing but positive reviews of these eyepieces but have yet to actually see one at any outreach programs.

They are quite good and I expect you will appreciate the view once you manage to use one.
