Solar: Increase surface texture in Photoshop by increasing saturation

Often, we will finish processing a solar image in Photoshop only to realize that the surface just does not have enough “texture”. This is a simple, but effective, method of making the surface texture stand out better by increasing the color saturation. Of course, one could always “start over”...

Cool! I edited the title to get rid of the "New article" at the end.

Cool new article John. I am sure it will be helpful for many folks. As far as staying safe I have just gotten home after evacuating yesterday afternoon due to high winds and fire risk. The winds came from the great basin. Biggest gust around here was 50 mph, though it did hit 82 mph on the summit of Mt. St. Helena in the wine country.

Re: Solar: Increase surface texture in Photoshop by increasing saturation
I am always looking for ways to improve, this will be part of my arsenal.
Here are before and after from some shots from July 2 2021 I did a quick try of this technique
