My accidental Messier Quest

Accidental because I did not try to get all those Ms in a systematic fashion, just sort of rounded up a bunch over time. Placed the 89 that I found in my files in my gallery
app.php/gallery/album/210.
A good winter time project since the sky has been overcast for a month and I'm going bonkers.

Wonderful gallery Steve!
"Bonkers" is a great way to describe it.

Thanks, I kind of like that one too, started out by doing the math and it seemed to be possible to resolve the galaxy with the 16 and an hour or so exposure. Also resolved the two outliers
NGC 147 and 185 and just a bit on M 32.
But many of the pics, some from a dozen years ago, need to be re-done, not up to my current standards. And maybe a plan to pick up the remaining 21 in a year or so.
Thanks,
Steve

Very nice collection, Steve. It can be fun to look back over old images and see how much improvement there has been over time!

Very nice indeed... You really make that 16" pay its rent! Beautiful close ups.
Favorites are M63 and 64. The Sunflower is outstanding, BTW...
The Whirlpool and M17 also really, really nicely done. You're almost there! A little bit further and you'll be home free!
We'd love to have you in the club!
Cheers!
