Wow.
First place.

It sort of looks like the Guggenheim turned on its side near a red street light.
The judges seemed very keen on this technicians capture skills...precision, more than on a visually intelligible image. This one is unpleasant to look at unless one is looking for the merely peculiar.
I suppose obscurantism was what the judges were looking for, but it is a mediocre representation of the lunar cycle.

some nice images,i like the mars collage during the dust storm and opposition and statue of liberty ,didn't really like rosette, it's pretty bland/soft,lacking data on the outer regions.

orion is pretty hectic. some of the targets near it i haven't seen , bottom left hand ? there is casper m78 ? is rosette there ?

It would be interesting to know what the judges criteria was for selection.
Some of these targets I have seen better composition/ imagery by the AP members here.

Hello Pikaia. I greatly enjoyed "The Watcher", Nicolai Brügger's Aurora Borealis image. This is great work from him, and thanks for sharing these winner's photos with us on here.
