Giant Solar Flare

#1

Post by Makuser »

Hi all. I waited a few days to see if anybody else picked this up. I first learned of it on Forbes News a few days ago. I checked with Raben, and I knew that it had to be related to AR2838 as it was just going around the western limb of the sun to the far side. Here is a better report from Space.com.

And, here is a screen shot today of the far side from Raben. You can tell by all of the yellow, orange, and red colors in their legend about AR2838, that this region is still "hot".
