Hi Kathy. A very interesting article that you have posted. The zodiacal light appears mostly in the spring and autumn months, near the time of the vernal and autumnal equinox, which is when the plane of Earth's equator passes through the geometric center of the Sun's disk and where the ecliptic (the Sun's annual pathway) and the celestial equator intersect.. The first clue to their origin was when the Pioneer 10 spacecraft observations in the 1970s linked zodiacal light with the interplanetary dust cloud in the Solar System. This latest report is much more detailed and links Mars as the probable source. Thanks for finding and posting this link Kathy, and the very best of regards.
PS. The vernal equinox (for the northern hemisphere) this year occurs on March 20th. For the southern hemisphere it is the autumnal equinox. Equinox is from the Latin, which means equal day and night hours.

Oh yeah, and Solar Cycle 25 :D
