Sky at Night magazine October
Observe Mars at its best
October's opposition of the Red Planet is the best opportunity to view the world for years to come. Pete Lawrence helps you make the most of it with a week-by-week guide to what may be visible on Mars's disc. In the subscription version
Really nice article if the opposition is of interest.

Signed up for a 6-month trial. I think October is the first issue I’ll be getting. Looking forward to it.

I subscribe to Sky at Night and also Astronomy Now, which I think is much better, with 16 more pages for the same price.

Re: Sky at Night magazine October
It's always been Amazing that Great Britain can support 2x BETTER Astro Magazines than the great USA. Greater Depth in most Stories, Greater Depth in Hardware Reviews, less "Click-bait" / Single Paragraph "Short Stories". And a Tradition that doesn't get turned on its head every 4-5 years when "The Parent Company" wants to "Shake Things Up" (wring out more money from the Astro Rag).

Looking forward to the opposition and some sessions on Mars with the 6" frac. Have yet to view Mars through the instrument yet.

Re: Sky at Night magazine October
After my initial go at imaging Mars earlier this year (for which I got an TSS APOD - thanks very much) I'm getting ready for more imaging runs with a new Televue Powermate 4x in the mix. We'll see how that goes.
