New Altair Hypercam 269C PRO TEC astro camera in stock

Post by altair_astro »

Hi there, a quick note to say we launched another camera a few weeks ago

Hypercam 269C PRO TEC product information here.

Note this is our new website which will eventually replace the old one and the URLs will merge when migration is complete. You can order on either, though the new one allows better international ordering with PayPal or PayPal credit payment options.

We also lent a 269C to Astrostace to try out, and here's her YouTube video preview:

Hypercam 269C You Tube Video Preview - Astrostace

Stacey has managed to get some images despite the weather this time of year, and has very kindly put some up on Astrobin too - search for 269C to check them out. I think these may be without darkframe calibration, but please confirm the details with her - let's hope for more good UK weather!

Hope you're otherwise good and well, and here's looking forward to an enjoyable 2020.

Sony haven't yet published the QE but it appears to be more sensitive than the discontinued, yet similar size Panasonic MN34230PLJ
and no starburst nor any glows we can see, which makes processing without dark calibration files an option (though we recommend it anyway for FPN and you'll still need flats. No bias needed either.)

This cam looks interesting, I'll be in the market for a color camera in the next few months. Getting a monochrome from ZWO first.
