Introducing Our "Stuff"...

#1

Post by densteele »

Hi Folks. So, this is our first post -- and thanks to the admins for adding us to this list. We here, at http://dobstuff.com, build Kits, we remake your telescope or build a complete for you. We specialize from 6" to 20" sizes.

Our telescopes are "strut" and "truss". We have a "string-strut" version. We build mirror cells -- and try to meet your custom needs.

Yes, too, we build custom rocker boxes -- Lightbridge upgrade or upgrades to just about any scope.

Let us hear from you.

I have a Z12 that is becoming a bit of a bear. I can barely bear it out to the back yard and my hernia complains afterwards. ;) I'm wondering how much weight I might save on a remodel of this solid steel tube 12" f5 Dob?

Those wooden clamps on your site are a great idea! I could use some for my collapsible Z12 conversion to hold the CF poles, right now I'm using 6 little screws, which is a bit cumbersome. Thanks for the inspiration, I'm fired up to start working on it. I love the Z12 base and its bearings but it's cumbersome to put it in the car even with my collapsible conversion. I wish you happy selling to TSS members.

I have an example of Dennis work from 2017. The scope shown was built in 1969 and this Rocker Box works very well with it.

To close the loop, I re-converted my Z12 collapsible conversion to aluminum struts with wing nuts. So I did not end up making and using the wooden clamps. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=19182&p=159546#p159546
