Post by KingClinton »

If you have any target suggestions for the June 2020 challenge we would love to hear them!

You can put forward a suggestion for the Northern hemisphere or the Southern hemisphere or both if you like!
Also remember our 9th magnitude limit.

Let us know what tickles your fancy for June 2020 and post your suggestions to this topic. :text-thankyoublue:
Eyeballs, binoculars, sketch box, Scopes n stuff.
Some people don't understand why I love astronomy so much, I cannot understand why they do not!

For the North target -- M11 "The Wild Duck" cluster. My favorite open cluster, can you see the "wedge"?

The South target -- NGC 5128 (C77), Centaurus "A", another fairly bright galaxy, can you see the central dust lane?

Cheers,
JT

M81 and M82 in Ursa Major. One of the most amazing galaxy pairs out there.

Change:

I suggested M8 for Northern Hemisphere and remembered that it's actually Southern. (I tend to think of Messier objects as "northern"...)

So let me change and suggest M51.

Now THAT is definitely northern.
