So I got out on 5th April for a go at the
DSO Challenge. I was trying to do a live stream at the same time and the electronic focuser kept disconnecting. But other than that I was completely on top of things!
I found both M65 and M66 easily after slewing into position from the
NINA Framing Assistant and then Plate Solving. But due to lack of data the images didn't process very well. I captured both these targets last year as part of my
Messier Quest. Moving on to
NGC 3628 I spent a bit more time on this target. But 9 x 180 sec captures still falls short of doing this galaxy justice. I need to do something about the dust next time out as well. I did calibrate with 30 flat frames but they don't seem to have been very effective.
Regards
Graeme
