My house is to the East of my telescope position but Gemini had risen above it by 6:30 so I framed up open cluster M35 and grabbed some subs.
Moving slightly West to the dimmer but denser cluster NGC2158, humidity was high and I had to use the hair drier before capturing it. Looks like I could have moved the black point a bit tighter.
The Orion targets were still low, so I nipped off to Andromeda for an hour then came back to capture the lovely little Planetary Nebula that is NGC2022. I was pleased to see some nebula colour.
M78 is really quite a dim target so once I was plate solved I could see the two staring eyes and could just make out the surrounding dust. I'm quite pleased with the finished result but the data is clearly lacking for such a target so it looks over processed. But it's still better than my last attempt!
A fine set of targets Alan. I didn't go for M42 because I didn't have time to do it justice because I had to get up early for a Sunday shift. I particularly liked NGC2022, I might have to give it another go with a 2x barlow in place.
Thanks for the Challenge.

Graeme
