The Northern Target for November is NGC457
Thanks to Mr Shorty and kt4hx for proposing NGC457.
Wikipedia: "
NGC 457 is an open star cluster in the constellation Cassiopeia. It was discovered by William Herschel in 1787, and lies over 7,900 light years away from the Sun. It has an estimated age of 21 million years. The cluster is sometimes referred by amateur astronomers as the Owl Cluster, the E.T."
The Southern Target for November is M74
Thanks to Mr Shorty for proposing M74.
Wikipedia: "
Messier 74 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Pisces. It is at a distance of about 32 million light-years away from Earth. The galaxy contains two clearly defined spiral arms and is therefore used as an archetypal example of a grand design spiral galaxy."
We hope that you have fun finding these targets and we look forward to seeing your reports, sketches or images of either or both.
Have fun out there!!!
Regards
Graeme
