Stellarium Background

#1

Post by Graeme1858 »

Here's my new Stellarium Background:

Image

The join is a bit iffy so I might do another panorama with the camera on a tripod. A fun project that should be useful too showing when exactly celestial objects rise over my roof and the neighbour's roof!

Regards

Graeme

Nice view JT! And your horizon is visible!

That's the first time I've seen Canopus!

Great, I like it. Good job!

It's just that ... it's a foreground.

I did one of those panorama photos on my phone then read the Stellarium wiki that Gfamily posted. The photo size was edited in Paint.net and the sky removed in Gimp. The .ini file was written in Notepad. It was a bit tricky getting North in the right place and getting the horizon at the right level but it's just trial and error!

Graeme

Ocean is nice and clean but it doesn't tell you when the tree in the neighbour's garden is going to be in the way!

You can't attach an ini file so you have to type it up in notepad with your own coordinates and save it as landscape.ini.
