Hi everyone,
Long time no post. But I finally got excited about going back out and found myself in a SkySafari predicament. I backed up my old phone and set up the new one off the backup. But, surprise surprise, everything is gone from my SS The scope views are easy to put back, now that I only mainly use a few eyepieces, but the lists of favorites I worked hard on for more than a year, those hurt! Does anyone know if there is a solution? Any chance those might be backed up anywhere else? This is the Pro version
Thanks!
PS how y'all been?
Properly collimated cornea-lens-vitreous optical apparatus, projecting on retinal sensor slightly limited by deuteranomaly, feeding through stock optic nerves into functional primary cortex, processed through frequently misfiring and buggy integrative cortex.
Other instruments: Skyline 8" Dobsonian, on a dob pod; Celestron Omni XLT 120 w GSO crayford focuser and Meade 5000 diagonal on Stellarvue M2C mount and Meade LX70 tripod; Oberwerk Binos: 25x100 Deluxe IF on Benro tripod with Oberwerk 5000 head or Farpoint parallelogram; 10x50 Ultra, usually on 3 Legged Thing Punks Trent monopod with Dolica trigger grip head; 8x42 Sport ED hand held. Main EPs: ES 82º 24mm and 11mm, Celestron Luminos 19mm and 10mm, Meade UWA 14mm, Meade HD-60 6.5mm. Filters: UHC, 13%, blue. Finders: RACI, Telrad, RDF, reticle.
Have you ever stored anything on the iCloud, or have you ever shared files on iTunes, these might be places to look to see if there are some of your files hidden there.
I recently swapped phones (iPhone) and backed up my old phone to iCloud. Over on the new iPhone, I restored from that iCloud back up. Everything was present and accounted for even with Sky Safari.
I also have always stored my Sky Safari data on the cloud. This way I can access the same lists and equipment whether I am using my phone or my two iPads. Maybe that is the key difference?
Thanks. Yes, I worry that may be the difference. I set up the phone off the iCloud, but I wonder if I should have made a separate backup of SS data in the cloud.

I figured it out!! I just had to log into my livesky account. Backup is automatic with the pro version. All is well with the world
