The Sky vs. SGP
Looking for input on SGP vs. The Sky Imaging Edition. Aside from price which is certainly notable any other points you would like to point out.

Re: The Sky vs. SGP
I guess a follow up would be, is APT suitable for doing all the other 2 programs support?

Re: The Sky vs. SGP
TheSkyX does not have the sequencing of SGP . It does have things like built in auto-guiding (instead of using Phd), focusing (single star and full frame) and more. It is a beast of a program with a manual that is upwards of 700 pages. If you're used to "new school" programs like SGP , Nina , Voyager, etc, I would skip TSX unless you get the full suite with a Paramount mount.

Re: The Sky vs. SGP
I started with APT , However after I got my Nitecrawler, I couldn't get it to focus properly. I switched to SGP and fell in love with it. It works great with my Nitecrawler albeit it's a bit on the slow side auto rotating. It won't just rotate to what degree you need prior to platesolve. Does a platesolve that rotates a few degrees and does a check and so and so on. But the focus is spot on.
I do use about 90% of the featuresSGP has and is well worth the few $$ you spend on it.
I have thought about checking out TheSkyX but I couldn't find enough info on their website to convince me. You pay several $$$$ for the program, that you have to spend several more $$$$ for camera control and other addon's and on top of all that there is a hefty subscription fee.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most! :tease:
