Does MEADE not support the 497 handset anymore?
The last update I can find is from like 7+ years old.
And nothing on their website.
CAnt update the handheld at all with anything!!!!

AND I bought the 505 cable and the windows 10 adapter and the AUTOSTAR SUITE doenst recognize it.

Any help?

I don't think that the Meade company's position has any influence on your #505 cable not being detected by Windows 10! The Autostar 497 controller is about 20 years old, I have one that has a 1999 date on the circuit board, running GI43 patched firmware and it works perfectly on my 2018 LX90, I use it as a backup controller. The last firmware that were officially issued for the Autostar were done in 2019 when some with GPS modules were having problems with with the GPS rollover bug. Yes last I checked no firmware were available from Meades site via the Autostar Updater software. The GI43 firmware is available from the StarGPS site and you can load it with their StarPatch software. But that does not solve your #505 to serial port to USB problem. I don't use Windows10 so I can't help you much but in windows 7 your device will appear in device manager and will show you which com port it has assigned to the device, you must select this port in the Autostar 6.1 updater. If the device does not appear in device manager you have a driver problem or a faulty device, not a problem with the Meade software. I still use the updater software to check if my #505 setup is working, but that is all. The Autostar 6.1 updater is available for download on Meade's site.
