Time zone in Stellarium

#1

Post by KathyNS »

I just downloaded Stellarium v20. I have updated the settings it didn't import from previous versions, but it is displaying the time in UTC instead of my local time zone (UTC-4 + DST). I can't seem to find a setting for the time zone. Where is it?

Never mind, I found it. For anyone else looking, it's on the Locations window. You have to check "Use Custom Time Zone" to enable time zone selection. Weird that it isn't either on by default or imported from the previous version. Anyway, all good now.

I'm on 19.3.

Is 20.0 different at all?

Regards

None that seemed to be obvious. I switched over last week and have not seen any differences to my eye.

Cheers,

I don't know. The last version I used was 18. It had trouble with graphics on my system, so I reverted back to the version I had before that, which was 13. Frankly, there isn't a lot of difference from one version to another.

I needed to get a more recent version because the MPC seems to have changed their file format and v13 couldn't import comet data any more.
