I wonder if this will also reduce some of the damaging vibrations that develop in current generation engines.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.

Thanks for the update. Haven't done the calculations but my bet is that Carnot efficiency of the detonation should be improved significantly over a combustion engine.

Trick of course is that bit about "blowing up in your face". I'm hopeful though...
