On the Moon the tardigrades would have a tough time doing much. On Mars? All Hail our Tardigrade overlords! (maybe)

Re: Moon colonized by tardigrades!
Yes! All we need to colonize Mars is create a human tardigrade hybrid! I hear Elon Musk is working on it.

It's funny how this simple solution has been right under our noses all along.
Seriously, tardigrades are such interesting creatures. When my niece was little, we liked to use my microscope, a vintage E. Leitz Wetzlar, to explore the smaller side of life. I had read that if you collect a bit of lichen from a tree or log and soak it in water, you can reanimate tardigrades that have been biding their time there for who knows how long.
It worked, and we enjoyed the sight of a couple of those cute little "water bears" tumbling about on the slide.

Re: Moon colonized by tardigrades!
My nephew enjoys looking at tardigrades caught on lichen and in drops of water using his microscope at my house. Pretty interesting little buggers!
