Lunar spacesuits won’t be ready in time for 2024 landing

In an Aug. 10 report, NASA’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) said the next-generation spacesuit the agency is developing for the Artemis program, known as the Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Unit (xEMU), won’t be ready for flight until at least April 2025, and may be subject to further delays."

With so many other projects and systems to soak up funding and no need for a production ready dust tolerant surface excursion suit in the past 50 years something like this was bound to pop up.

I expect the change from "we will go to Mars in 10-15 years" to "we will be back on the Moon in 30 months" is going to expose any number of gaps in our capabilities.
