Report in "Futurism" that Russia is possibly going to abandon the ISS and build their own. Here's the link, but it might not work for everybody:

I can believe the former but not the later. With oil stabile at roughly 45% below the highs of the previous decade, Russia may simply not have the spare funds for a project that much of the public simply takes for granted.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.

Russians used to have an unsuccessful launch of the rocket this week. Their space exploration campeign is in the pour conditions but the chairman of the russian space department claims that they will make crewed mission to Mars earlier than Space X. Funny dude, I like wathing russian news)))

Doubt they will make it to the moon before NASA/SpaceX - they have never landed cosmonauts on the moon.

Agreed. New countries periodically decide to put someone through an astronaut program and find them a ride to the ISS. While it's still an odd mix of science, tech demonstrator, and PR tool that combo has kept it going for a surprisingly long time now.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.
