Have you ever heard about hybrid rockets? Some space company manufactures and uses this kind of rockets in small launches like delivering microsatellites in the orbit.this type of rocket is uncrewed and guided and is used for test in under microgravity conditions.

Why are these rockets called hybrid? This is due to the type of fuel they use or why?

I know that one land speed record attempt vehicle has a hybrid rocket. In that case, the term refers to a solid propellant with a liquid oxidizer. It has the some of the advantages of solid fuel, such as ease of handling and energy density, but the liquid oxidizer allows it to be throttled and shut off.

I don't know if there are other meanings.

The term ``hybrid`` has been given to this rocket because it combines solid Hydroxyl Terminated Polybutadiene (HTPB) fuel and 90% Hydrogen Peroxide (H202) liquid oxidizer. This rocket is called Sky Hy and was made by a private space company from Scotland. The SkyHy rocket is aimed at microgravity missions and experiments
