How the UK almost won the space race
"The Space Race was almost a three-way race in the late 1940s when British designers created Megaroc from the earlier German V-2, the first craft capable of carrying a man into space."
Mark Felton's channel has lots of fascinating videos about military history. I particularly like the one about how the RAF nuked the USA - twice!

Very interesting.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.

Re: How the UK almost won the space race
Very interesting. I know that after the Second World war main struggle was between two countries USA and USSR. And both countries used V-2 as an example of creating something that can go in space and out of the Earth`s atmosphere.
