Hayabusa2 gets extended mission
The Japanese spacecraft Hayabusa2 is currently returning from asteroid Ryugu, bringing rock samples back to Earth: https://www.space.com/japan-asteroid-mi ... 2-extended
After dropping off the sample in December, the spacecraft will swing back out into space to visit a new asteroid target: 1998 KY26 in 2031
Great use of an already incredible mission!
