Jupiter at Opposition

Any plans to observe? Any hints for newbies?
I'll be travelling so I'm planning to pack a small refractor and hope for clear skies.

Give yourself time at the eyepiece. You will be rewarded by extended careful observing that reveals detail not seen with a quick glance.

Well, because of scheduling problems, I'm in Michigan much later than planned and sans scope!
If you obtain any decent photos, please post.

Got a break in the clouds this morning so I ran out on the patio with the 70mm refractor. Got to watch Jupiter and three moons through a gap in the trees. Too much turbulence for any details but it was nice to be out under the stars again.
