Comet c/2019 y4 Location tonight March 21st?

Post by TheButcher »

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone can confirm the current location of the comet or star that it is next/near too. I have about a 1 Degree FOV. I think I got it down right and see it in Stellarium next to Star HIP 42896 and I had Sequence Generator Pro platesolve to it.

Anyway, I am trying to image it now since the sky here is Mostly Clear but Clouds roll by every now and then so Can't really work on Any other AP stuff and figure it would be a good time to test out some exposures on it.

Currently I am imaging it with my 1600mm-Pro and I have HIP 42896 dead center with my 8" RC. But I can not make any comet out through the stretched previews, only stars in B/W. I am just curious if have the right spot for it tonight? And should I see any kind of trail or glow in Mono. I am doing RBG filters with it.

Any tips or suggestions welcomed,

Thanks all
:)

Thanks again, when I checked the altitude and az I then realized that stupid me had the date on Stelarium set to the 24th by mistake somehow lol. No wonder why I couldn't see a trail. But now I got it locked right on and can see it, It was near Hip 45081 and Althiba . Well at least I know where it will be on the 24th. I wonder if I could do any NB on this?
