Hi Andy!

I would call that a reflection due to all the moonlight bouncing around in there.

A planet that large in apparent size would either closer or larger than Jupiter.

Pluto will show in an image, but only with longer exposure, and even then it will be a mere pinpoint of light. It will not show in a wide-field capture such as yours. You gotta dig in a little deep for that one. :)

I only wish Pluto was that big in one of my telescopes! I have yet to observe Pluto or Neptune. I have seen all the other planets, and one day soon I hope to catch a glimpse of Neptune but I don't know if I will ever see Pluto in any of my scopes.

1989 was the optimum time to try Pluto. I'm not sure whether I should count seeing it, maybe. At the time I tried it was 1972 and I used a 16" Cassegrain at a pro observatory. I had a finder chart and noticed a point of light where it was supposed to be. Weather and allotted observing schedules did not permit a follow up to see it shift position.

Give it a try in your 10"?

Still haven't seen Pluto. Now that it is no longer a planet it is less interesting. Maybe one day I'll see Nabiru. :o

Isn't that the one with the cloaking device and anti gravity shields? ;)

where is your spirit !!! . have you ever met someone and they tell you their nickname and it sticks and then they try to introduce their real name but never catches on, well for me, pluto was introduced as a planet when i was a young one and it will always be a planet to me.
